2013: The Official Brazil Day Celebration In Africa

I was delighted to receive an invitation to Brazil’s 191st Independence day celebration at the ambassador’s residence in Nairobi on September 5th this year thanks to a dear friend.

Despite running around preparing for the “Brazil Day the Nairobi Way Party” two days later, I twisted Stef’s arm to come with me (she was already willing, partly because she’s an eighth Brazilian.) We got our nails done, subtly donned Brazilian colors and headed off to the Ambassador’s residence and solemnly promised to be on our best behavior. I must say, we did well.

The set up was formal, the food delicious and the guests very friendly.
